Much has been made of late about the rise is a new wave of psychedelic rock. Of course, this has all come from the music press and associated offshoot blogs, which stick firmly to the middle ground of hyping bands that are “hot”.
Whilst I’m a big fan of bands like Connan Mockasin, Tame Impala et al, it DOES irk me that so many awesome bands are overlooked, because they’ve not had their tracks played over E4 idents (Tame Impala was used for Made In Chelsea teasers for example) or don’t have rabid celebrity endorsement.
So here’s a few bands that have been around much longer than hype, and who deserve a bit of a shout out;
